Dear Austin Residents,
Yesterday, I heard that your City Council was taking action on buying hotels to try to solve the problem of homelessness in your city. I was overjoyed, as this has been a vision of mine for many years - that we would have a network of hotels nationwide that could be established as residences and rehabilitation programs for people who have found themselves battling homelessness.
This morning I woke up with this heavy on my heart. As a Social Worker graduate and fellow citizen who has lived in the "middle class" most of my life, I think I understand your concerns. However, as a Christian and someone who was temporarily thrown into poverty for at least five years, I also have a unique perspective I hope to bring to this conversation.
When I looked up the news story last night, I was sad to find the videos of some of your residents protesting. I want to offer my response to the concerns raised in hopes that a larger understanding towards the homeless population w...
Adding Green Smoothies to your diet can seem overwhelming and nearly impossible, especially if you are not used to it - or have tried one or more and gagged each time. :)
I assure you, there are combinations that you can do. Just keep working with it to find what works for you.
Here is the "Formula" I use when creating Green Smoothies. Learning this formula will help you be more creative in making your own. You also won't be as limited by trying to follow a recipe only to realize you are missing ingredients.

Today, my friend shared her story of frustration as she went back to her doctor to check on a sore area with a lump. It has been weeks since her mastectomy, and she was concerned. Rather than getting to see her doctor, she was seen by a nurse practitioner. In addition, the technician taking her scans seemed to be doing so while being trained. All of these things didn't alleviate my friend's concerns.
Her oncologist is not supposed to recheck her labs for another four months. Well, as we know and have heard often, cancer cells can multiply very quickly.
I had also previously suggested that she ask her doctor for an order for a nutritional lab panel, as we are working to help her add in more nutrition for her post-chemotherapy healing. Rather than her getting that, they suggested she go to her PCP doctor for this bloodwork (pass the buck). She does not have a current PCP. The one she had been recommended to is not accepting new patients. To find another one requires research, time, e...
Hello again,
I have not read all of these books. I am using this page as a place to gather and list them as I come across things that seem they would be helpful to people who are searching for answers and who believe answers can be found!
Submit your favorite cancer healing resource for me to add to this list to help others searching for answers.
This is what I am compelled to do at 5 in the morning when I need to clear my mind as I try for the hundredth time to figure out the best way to manage our lives. LOL.
I will try to come back here and upload some of my charts to help you....
this post is just my step 1 ♥

Here are things to watch and listen to.
Not only do you need to be continually renewing your mind to the Word of God (BIBLE); you need to add seeking knowledge, understanding, and wisdom about your health and healing from cancer.
Here is a collection of things I have collected (and will hopefully keep adding to) to help you stay organized.
Here are the items that I recommend to build your kitchen to be ready for health-giving meal prep, consumption, and inspiration.
OXO Good Grips POP Container Set
This may seem like a luxury item, but now that I have had these in my pantry for over six months, I would say they are a necessity. ;) The ability to see our food and easily access it has made a huge difference. In addition, it's a great reminder when you open the pantry to incorporate eating whole foods rather than boxed and processed foods. When the whole foods remain in boxes and bags, they look more equal nutritionally to the other foods in processed containers.
There are other brand containers, but we like the easy pop top feature of these, and they have been great at keeping our ingredients air tight and fresh.
