IT'S RAINING: The true story of one family's trial and how God communicated with them

The Book Synopsis

Rachelle's life would never be the same. The accident had left her husband physically paralyzed and mentally compromised. Her role as a wife, homeschooling mother, and entrepreneur was buried under her new role as a full-time caregiver and sole manager of their whole household and lives. After a close family friend, and personal injury lawyer, had convinced her to file the lawsuit; she maintained hope that somehow, someday, there could be some significant financial relief.  Never did she imagine how her faith, strength, and endurance would be tested and proven as the corporate defendants refused to accept any responsibility, pushed back, and played unfairly.

This is her powerful true story of their family's journey through a seven-year personal injury lawsuit and how applying their faith helped them navigate, endure, and even grow through the process of waiting. It is also a story that reveals the Supernatural is still possible, and available, with God. He is with us… and for us.

From the Book, you will:

  • Learn to take God's Word at face value and apply it to their lives through tools such as faith, written petitions, and giving.
  • See how fear tactics can be easily recognized in order to apply faith to the situation instead.
  • Experience first-hand the frustrations present, as well as the significance of integrity, when being a party in a lawsuit.

My Book Overview

Part 1: Filing the Lawsuit – Hope

The book will open with a brief history of what accident has occurred. Readers will immediately dive into the mysteries of what happened to Rachelle’s husband and follow her as she gathers the clues and walks through the first weeks of their family’s crisis. Rachelle’s struggle with her Christianity and how that affects her decision to file a lawsuit is touched upon. Ultimately, the lawsuit is filed and the book will highlight some of the various financial, physical, and emotional struggles the family endures as they are waiting for the legal parties to do their part. The book will highlight that while the family is desperate for financial relief, they are able to find it first through their faith in God’s work in their lives and the giving method He shows them to survive.

Part 2: Signs & Mediation – Faith

As the trial date finally draws near, the readers will follow Scott and Rachelle as they suddenly become aware of the mediation that must take place first. In response to Rachelle’s displeasure after learning how the legal team wanted to represent their family, and in an effort to stay in line with  God’s plan for the case, Scott and Rachelle ask God for a sign to know what He wants them to negotiate at the mediation. God provides supernatural responses in this critical and thrilling part of the book. Even though Scott and Rachelle know they have done what God confirmed for them to do, the natural circumstances look worse than when they started, as the mediation completely goes haywire and they lose their attorneys!

Part 3: Lost & Found Attorneys – Discouragement, Hope

Rachelle desperately clings to her hope in God for answers and solutions, and God delivers in mighty ways. New attorneys accept the case with less than six weeks until trial. Readers will get to experience the trying and tense emotions of how things turned around in the favor of the Rankins despite the mess that had been made by their previous attorneys.

Part 4: Trial Postponed – Devastation

It was finally time for the trial, but after Scott and Rachelle showed up, there was another big surprise and obstacle that would keep them from getting the closure they so desperately wanted.  The defendants had kept secret and as soon as it was out, Rachelle’s attorneys were adamant that they needed to postpone the trial, yet again! Faith and patience were being tried and readers will  get a glimpse into the fatigue and doubt Rachelle dealt with as this huge disappointment presented itself.

Part 5: The Trial & Signs – Struggle, Faith, Hope

Step into the courtroom and experience the drama from selecting the jury to hearing the verdict in the end. Experience the highs and lows of Rachelle realizing the games that were played in the name of legalities when her family’s lives were on the line. Witness how Rachelle used her spiritual strength to maintain composure and confidence in the face of dishonesty and discouraging circumstances. God showed up to court in mighty ways as well using rain and snow to reveal His authority, presence, and comfort.

Part 6: The Appeals – Discouragement, Peace

If there ever was an emotional roller coaster ride, this would definitely be it. Just because God had given clear signs for their next steps, it did not necessarily equate to things being quick or easy.  Go all in with Rachelle’s faith as she applies the principles she has learned and experience the frustrating and exhilarating surprises that came along with it.

Part 7: The Beginning – Hope

The conclusion to the waiting finally happens. The State Supreme Court makes their ruling. Walk with Rachelle through the last week before the final verdict is finally made. Will she take matters into her own hands to try to save her family financially, or will she completely surrender it all and trust God to take care of them yet again? It is not a happily ever story, but it is just the beginning of a new one.

About Me & Why I Write and Speak about these Personal Things in my Life:

I am motivated to share anything from my deep well of painful life experiences with hope that it will help others find and walk with God. As a repetitively abandoned child, fortunately, I chose primarily to look to God’s Word as my compass for decision-making.  As an adult, when I realized I could communicate with God, and He was communicating with me, I started to experience miraculous events that drew me even closer to wanting to share these true stories with anyone who would listen.

My life took an unexpected turn when my husband was tragically injured not long after having our third child. I became a full-time caregiver. Experiencing poverty, more abandonment, and eventually two of my children developing chronic illnesses, my life story continues to keep evolving; however, the one constant has been my dependency on God and God’s faithfulness to me. To read my writings it to read my heart and enter into the way I have been able to cope and overcome so much adversity. I hope my readers not only see me find God in the midst of the difficulties but that they would find Him for their own lives and commit to being faithful to Him too... because I can testify, He is faithful to me, and because He is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11), He is faithful to you too. ♥

"This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
If we endure, We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
If we are faithless, He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself."

2Timothy 2:11-13 NKJV

 THE BOOK's COMPLETION STATUS

I was scheduled to have my book published and attend a Barnes & Noble book signing party on Oct 2020 in Columbus, Ohio. However, once SPRING 2020 world-crisis swept over us all, I laid this project down and decided NOT to publish it. Unfortunately, the project has grown stagnant.  I was three chapters away from being ready to send my manuscript to an editor.

Let me know you are excited about the book - I think if I know people are waiting to read it - it may help me move getting it completed up my list sooner! I now have gotten into other projects like my PODCAST, growing & serving my INSTAGAM community, and my new YOUTUBE Channel videos.

So, if the book is something you all want sooner, please let me know you are excited about it. I have mixed feelings about publishing it at this time of continuous world-crisis as well as while my children still being raised (because there are sensitive marital and financial details also in the book).
